Chickenfoot is the debut self-titled album by American hard rock supergroup Chickenfoot, set to be released by on June 5, 2009 in Europe and June 9, 2009, in the US. The album is planned to be packaged with exclusive "heat sensitive" artwork. On March 20, 2009, the band released two songs, "Soap on a Rope" and "Down the Drain" on their official website. The band's first single, "Oh Yeah", was released to radio stations nationwide, as well as on their official website, on April 13, 2009. The band was featured in the June 2009 issue of Guitar World as a cover story. They discussed the recording of their self-titled debut album.

The Real Thing is the eighth studio album (ninth overall) by Vanessa Williams, released in the United States on June 2, 2009 by Concord Records. The album, produced by Babyface, Keith Thomas, Rob Mathes, and Rex Rideout, features songs written by Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Babel Gilberto, Phil Galdston and Babyface. Williams' herself has described the album as "a hybrid of samba, bossa nova, some salsa and also some pop and R&B" Singles from the album include, Breathless, Just Friends, and Close To You.

New Again is the fourth studio album by American rock band Taking Back Sunday, released through Warner Bros. Records on June 2, 2009. It is the first album to include their new guitarist Matthew Fazzi after the departure of Fred Mascherino in mid-2007. It was produced by David Kahne, with a selection of tracks also produced by Matt Squire. Additional production on all tracks was done by Jamie Siegel.

Let the Dominoes Fall is the seventh full-length album from punk rock band Rancid, which was released on June 2, 2009 on Hellcat Records. It is the band's third album for the label, which is a subsidiary of producer Brett Gurewitz's Epitaph Records and owned by guitarist Tim Armstrong. This is their first album of new material in nearly six years, following 2003's Indestructible, and their first with drummer Branden Steineckert, who joined the band in 2006 after the departure of founding drummer Brett Reed.

Preliminaires is a 2009 album by Iggy Pop, released on June 2, 2009, and inspired by Michel Houellebecqs novel (The Possibility of an Island). Unlike his previous works, the album is less rock-oriented and was said by Pop to be "quieter album with some jazz overtones" with its sound influenced by New Orleans jazz artists such as Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton. Pop also admited that the album is his response to being "sick of listening to idiot thugs with guitars banging out crappy music".

Hombre Lobo: 12 Songs of Desire is the seventh studio album by American rock band Eels, released on June 2, 2009. Hombre Lobo is Spanish for "werewolf." On March 31, 2009, the band made the track "Fresh Blood" available on Spinner.com, explaining that the song would be the lead single for the album. A documentary entitled Tremendous Dynamite was filmed to document the recording of the album.

Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is the seventh studio album by Dave Matthews Band (DMB), which was released by RCA Records on June 2, 2009. It is the band's first studio album since 2005's Stand Up and the first release since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore. Guitarist Tim Reynolds played on the album, marking his first recording with DMB since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. Rashawn Ross makes his first appearance on a DMB studio album since joining as a regular touring member in 2006 as well as Jeff Coffin, who has taken Moore's role since June 2008. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo (the Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Alanis Morissette, My Chemical Romance).

Scary Fragile is the second album by Australian singer/songwriter Butterfly Boucher, recorded under Geffen Records. The singer uploaded one-off album tracks on her MySpace page at irregular intervals, on days referred to as 'Oops Days'. The first single from the album, "A Bitter Song," was released in 2007 onto the iTunes download service, following its feature in popular TV series Grey's Anatomy. After negotiating through 2008, Boucher was released from her record contract, retaining the rights to unreleased material, including the Scary Fragile album. The album is set for release on June 2, 2009.

Uplifter is the ninth studio album by 311 set to be released on June 2, 2009. It is the band's first album in four years, the longest gap ever between 311 albums. Uplifter was produced by Bob Rock, famous for producing other bands such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, and Bon Jovi. The first single from the album, "Hey You," was sent to radio for airplay on April 7th. According to Nick Hexum's Twitter, there will be an additional six b-sides, for use at a later date. The album was streamed in full (including the deluxe edition tracks) on the band's MySpace page prior to release.
