Satellite Party is an alternative rock band conceived by current Jane's Addiction and former for Pyros frontman Perry Farrell following the demise of Jane's Addiction in 2004.

Other members currently include Carl Restivo (bass) and Farrell's wife, Etty Lau Farrell (backing singer and dancer). The band was initially formed as a collaboration between Farrell and Extreme member Nuno Bettencourt, however Bettencourt departed from from the project in July 2007. As Perry Farrell now remains the only permanent member, Satellite Party could be considered a pseudonym for his solo work

Safri Duo is a Danish percussion duo composed of Uffe Savery (born April 5, 1966) and Morten Friis (born August 21, 1968).

Initially classically oriented, by 1999 they were discovered by a label executive working on classical music. After being signed, a track mixing both tribal sound and modern electronica was set to be released in 2000. The result was the popular "Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)", that became one of the most popular songs in Europe that year.

Rock Kills Kid is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California that consists of Jeff Tucker (guitar and vocals), Shawn Dailey (bass), Sean Stopnik (guitar), Reed Calhoun (keyboards/vocals), and Mike Balboa (drums). Their music often draws comparison to The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen and U2, as well as new bands such as The Killers and Franz Ferdinand. They were named one of Rolling Stone magazine's "10 Artists to Watch in 2006".

RJD2 (born Ramble John "RJ" Krohn on May 27, 1976) is an American music producer, singer and musician. RJD2 was born in Eugene, Oregon, and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was signed to the Definitive Jux label where he released two largely instrumental hip hop albums and has produced tracks for many prominent rappers. However, he has now left Def Jux and has signed with XL Recordings. His latest album, The Third Hand, is a striking departure from his usual style and features RJD2 singing and playing instruments on nearly every track.
Biography
RJD2 originally began his career in Columbus, Ohio, DJing in 1993 with a pair of turntables bought from a friend. He went to High School at Fort Hayes School of the Arts and graduated in 1994. He claims his name originates from another friend who referenced him as "Rjd2" in his raps, and the name stuck. Originally working the role of DJ in the Columbus rap group MHz, he later signed to Bobbito Garcia's Fondle 'Em label, releasing the self-proclaimed "mix CD" Your Face or Your Kneecaps. A year later he signed to El-P's record label Definitive Jux and released his solo debut album Deadringer to much acclaim. Rjd2 later collaborated with Columbus rapper Blueprint under the name Soul Position, releasing Unlimited EP in 2002 and 8 Million Stories in 2003. He released his second solo album Since We Last Spoke on Definitive Jux in 2004 and released Soul Position's second album Things Go Better with RJ and AL in 2006 under Rhymesayers Entertainment label. He still continues to produce tracks, working with many independent rappers, such as Copywrite, Cunninlynguists, Cage, MF DOOM, Diverse and Aceyalone. Recently he contributed a cover of "Airbag" by Radiohead for the 2006 album "Exit Music". He has recently announced that he has left Def Jux and will be going for more of a 'pop route'. RJD2 has been extremely popular in the skateboarding and skateboard filming subculture, frequently used in montages. RJD2 has a new track called "Christmas Eve Montage" from the new Nightmare Before Christmas album "Nightmare Revisited". On his blog, RJD2 recently stated he has an album slated for 2009.

Planet Funk is an Italian electronic dance musical ensemble. Members are Sergio Della Monica, Alex Neri, Domenico GG Canu, Marco Baroni, and Alessandro Sommella (the Ghost extra member), in addition to a series of guest singers in collaboration, like Dan Black, Sally Doherty, Raiz and John Graham.

Their first single, "Chase the Sun", reached number five on the UK Singles Chart in 2001. The song has enjoyed a rise in popularity ever since Sky Sports began using it during its coverage of the Professional Darts Corporation's major tournaments. The crowds in the venues are encouraged to chant and sing along to the song during the commercial breaks of matches, and the song has a cult following amongst darts fans. The song is also known to be chanted by supporters, at the games of Australian football club, Newcastle Jets. The Melbourne spring racing carnival used the song during promotional TV advertisements during the mid to late 2000s. Their second single, "Inside All the People", reached no. 9 in the Italian singles charts, but did better on the European dance charts. Their third single was "Who Said (Stuck In The UK)" which also gained significant commercial success. Their 2007 single release, "Static", appeared on FIFA 08. They are also remixers, with their highest-profile work to date being New Order's "Waiting for the Sirens' Call". In May 2006 they became the first musical group to release a single exclusively as a mobile phone download, with the release of "Stop Me" on the mobile network 3. They have recently released the single, "Lemonade", which will feature on their new album.

The video provided a unique insight into the processing of the large amounts of e-waste created in Europe and the USA

Orbital are an English electronic duo from Sevenoaks consisting of brothers Phil Hartnoll and Paul Hartnoll whose career lasted from 1989 until 2004 and have now reformed in 2009.

They took their name from Greater London's orbital motorway, the M25, which was central to the early rave scene and party network in the South East during the early days of acid house. One of the biggest names in British electronica during the 1990s, Orbital were both critically and commercially successful, being particularly known for an element of live improvisation during their shows, a rarity with techno acts. They were initially influenced by early electro and punk rock. In 1989, Orbital recorded a track called "Chime" on their father's cassette deck. It was released on Oh Zone Records in December 1989, and re-released on FFRR Records a few months later. The track became a rave anthem, reaching number 17 in the UK charts, and earning them an appearance on Top of the Pops, during which they wore anti-Poll Tax t-shirts. A few singles and EPs followed, and their first self-titled album, a collection of tracks recorded at various times, was released in late 1991.
In late 1992, the Radiccio EP barely reached the UK top forty, but it included probably their most well-known song, "Halcyon". The song featured a backwards sample of Kirsty Hawkshaw from "It's a Fine Day" (a chart hit for Opus III earlier that year), and B-side "The Naked and the Dead" was similarly based on a line from Scott Walker's rendition of Jacques Brel's song "Next". "Halcyon" was dedicated to the Hartnolls' mother, who was addicted to the tranquiliser Halcion (Triazolam) for many years. The duo's popularity grew rapidly with the release of their second album, titled Orbital 2, in 1993. The album featured complex arrangements and textures, and opens with the two-minute track "Time Becomes", which comprises nothing more than two slightly detuned, looped samples of a Michael Dorn line from Star Trek: The Next Generation, "...where time becomes a loop" being played simultaneously through the left and right channels, respectively (until one cycle of phase difference has happened). This same sample was used at the beginning of "the Mobius", the opening track in the previous album. This audio pun was intended to make listeners believe that they had bought a mis-pressed album (Orbital 1 packaged as Orbital 2). The album reached #28 on the UK album charts, staying in the top chart for fifteen weeks. "Halcyon" was remixed for the album, as "Halcyon + On + On". The version played live has also gained notoriety amongst fans for containing a complete mashup of diverse samples including "You Give Love a Bad Name" by the band Bon Jovi, "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" by Belinda Carlisle, and most recently "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by the band The Darkness. The first two albums are commonly known as "the green album" and "the brown album", after the colour of their covers.
Political commentary
Orbital sometimes incorporated political and environmental commentary into their music. The track "Forever" on Snivilisation samples a speech by Graham Crowden from the 1982 Lindsay Anderson film Britannia Hospital, in which he lambasts humankind for its destructive ways; and the track "You Lot" on the Blue Album, features a confrontational, partially vocoded anti-genetic engineering sample from Christopher Eccleston, originally from the TV two-part series The Second Coming written by Russell T Davies. They recorded "The Girl With The Sun In Her Head" from In Sides using Greenpeace's mobile solar power generator CYRUS. They named an early record "Belfast" after playing live in the city of Belfast at the height of The Troubles in 1990. Other album track titles suggest environmental concern such as "Kein Trink Wasser" ("no drinking water" in German) from Snivilisation and "Dŵr Budr" ("dirty water" in Welsh) and "P.E.T.R.O.L." from In Sides.

The Notwist are a German indie rock band. Formed in 1989, the band moved through several musical incarnations despite maintaining a relatively stable lineup. While their early records moved through heavy metal into dark indie rock,

Their recent efforts for which they've received the most attention have been very strongly influenced by the electronica scene, along with the other groups on the record label Morr Music.
The two Achers and Messerschmid formed the group in 1989 in Weilheim, near Munich. In 1990 they recorded their self-titled debut, a grunge-metal oriented LP. 1992 saw the release of Nook, which has an indie rock sound, while their 1995 album 12 contains their first flirtation with electronics. Martin Gretschmann joined the group in 1997. Shrink, released in 1998, is a jazz-electro-rock album. In 1998 Cynthia Dall did the vocals for a remix of "Torture Day" by The Notwist. The album Neon Golden (released in 2002) put them on the map for American listeners, with its heartfelt sentiment and more pop-oriented sound. The group has been remixed by Four Tet, Caribou, Console, Loopspool, Panda Bear and others. Singer Markus Acher collaborated with anticon. rapper/producer Alias on the song "Unseen Sights," an effort that shows a surprising musical breadth for both artists. The Notwist recently formed a group with Themselves named 13 & God, whose eponymous debut was released in 2005. Markus Acher, in addition to his work with The Notwist and 13 & God, also works with the band Lali Puna, while Mecki Messerschmidt now also plays drums for the recently reformed Schweisser. Michael Acher composes and programs for Ms. John Soda.

Morcheeba are a British band that mixes influences from trip hop, rock, rhythm and blues and pop. Their most popular albums include debut Who Can You Trust? and Big Calm. They are primarily known for the single "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day" . The group released their sixth studio album Dive Deep in February 2008.

The group has sold around 6 million copies of their albums worldwide. Sometime in the mid-1990s, the Godfrey brothers (DJ Paul Godfrey and multi-instrumentalist Ross Godfrey) recruited Skye Edwards as vocalist, during a chance meeting at a party in which both brothers were introduced to Skye. This led to formation of Morcheeba. Five albums later in 2003, Edwards was asked to leave the band by the Godfrey Brothers. In 2005 they recorded another album, The Antidote, and recruited Daisy Martey (formerly of the band Noonday Underground) to replace Edwards on vocals. Martey was fired from the band in 2005. Later, the Godfrey brothers replaced Martey with another singer - Jody Sternberg - for their live performances, but their tour in support of Dive Deep was with French singer, Manda, on lead vocals. Their lastest studio album Dive Deep was released in February 2008 in Europe and the UK. This album, produced by Paul and Ross Godfrey, featured several guest vocalists including Judie Tzuke, Thomas Dybdahl, Cool Calm Pete, and Manda.

Moloko were an Irish/English electronic/pop duo consisting of Róisín Murphy from Wicklow, Ireland and Mark Brydon, from Sunderland, England.

The band's name originates from the Nadsat slang in the novel A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, in which it means "milk" (from the Russian word for milk, молоко), actually the name of a milk drink Alex and his "droogs" consume mixed with amphetamines. (Fellow electronic Sheffield band Heaven 17 had also taken their name from the novella when they formed in 1980).
History of band
Murphy was born in Arklow, Ireland, and had no prior professional experience as a singer. Brydon already had an extensive CV within the dance music community as a remixer and member of pop/house acts House Arrest and Cloud 9. They met at a party in Sheffield, England, when Murphy approached Brydon using the chat-up line, "Do you like my tight sweater? See how it fits my body!" This line would later become the title of their debut album, recorded while the pair were dating. The first two albums Do You Like My Tight Sweater? and I Am Not a Doctor gained notice in the underground dance scene. The band broke into the mainstream when "Sing It Back", an album track from I Am Not A Doctor, was remixed by house music producer Boris Dlugosch. The track was a massive hit in Ibiza, and this remixed version broke into the top-five in both the Irish Singles Charts, and the UK singles chart in 1999, and also, helped by a psychedelic video featuring Murphy in a very short metallic "flapper" dress and cap. "Sing It Back" was eventually featured on 110 music compilations.

Modjo is a French house/pop musical duo made up of producer Romain Tranchart and vocalist Yann Destagnol (aka Yann Destal). They had major success with their hit single "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)".

Romain Tranchart (born in Paris) first moved with his family to Mexico and Algeria, to finally live in Brazil. This is where he started learning the guitar, finding inspiration through jazz classics. He was also exposed to Bossa Nova but chose another direction, playing in a rock band called Seven Tracks once back in Paris. After a few gigs in Parisian clubs La Loco and Le Grand Rex, the band split. At that time, he became a fan of house music, influenced by DJ Sneak, Ian Pooley and Daft Punk. He released his first house single as Funk Legacy titled "What You're Gonna Do Baby" on Vertigo Records in 1998. Later, he decided to enter the American School of Modern Music in Paris, the French division of the Berklee School of Music.
Also Parisian, Yann learned to play flute and clarinet when he was a small child. As he aged he became deeply influenced by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, David Bowie and other pop acts. He started to play drums by emulating them. He also learned to play the piano and the guitar. He later bought himself a four track recording machine and started songwriting and singing. Fascinated more by voices than by charismatic band leaders, he liked bands such as Aerosmith, The Police and Queen and lately became a great fan of R&B divas. After being a drummer and sometimes-vocalist in a few bands, he met Romain in 1998, and the partnership was born. The two quickly began recording, and from those sessions came "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)". The single got recognition later on in 2000. It's a "French-flavour" house track with heavy pop and disco influences, which featured a sample from Chic's "Soup For One". The track became an instant number-one across Europe, and was followed up by other singles Chillin', What I Mean and No More Tears. With this last single, they started calling themselves Modjo Band. After "No More Tears", they started their respective solo careers, with Romain Tranchart remixing songs from various artist like Res ("Golden Boys"), Shaggy ("Sexy Lady"), Mylène Farmer ("California") and post producing the likes of Everynote's "Once Upon a Time." Yann Destal's released a very Queen-esque album, titled The Great Blue Scar, reaching some success in France.

Richard Melville Hall (born September 11, 1965), better known by his stage name Moby is an American DJ, singer-songwriter and musician.

He plays keyboard, guitar, bass guitar and drums. After eight top 40 singles in the UK in the 1990s he released the album Play, in 1999, which sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. His follow up albums, 18, Hotel, and Last Night sold 6 million copies and have achieved gold and platinum status in over 30 countries. Hall was born in Harlem, New York, and raised by his mother in Darien, Connecticut. According to Hall, his middle name and the nickname "Moby" were given to him by his parents because of an ancestral relationship to Moby Dick author Herman Melville: "The basis for Richard Melville Hall and for Moby is that supposedly Herman Melville was my great-great-great-granduncle." He has also released music under the names Voodoo Child, Schaumgummi, & as a member of the bands Vatican Commandos, AWOL, Caeli Seoul and Gin Train. He performs frequently in the New York club scene, often at events known as Degenerates.

Mirwais Ahmadzaï, more commonly known as Mirwais, (1960) is a Paris-based record producer and songwriter. He was born in Switzerland to an Afghan father and an Italian mother.

He is a leader in the French style of progressive electronic dance music/progressive electronica. A former member of the defunct 1980s group Taxi Girl, he was re-discovered by Madonna in the late 1990s when he submitted a demo to her then-record label Maverick Records. He signed to Sony for the 2000 studio album release Production which included the Madonna collaboration "Paradise (Not For Me)". It also spawned two club hits, "Disco Science" and "Naive Song". The former appeared in the Guy Ritchie film Snatch. In 1996, he contributed to Quebecois singer Carole Laure's electronic-oriented album Sentiments Naturels. Madonna recruited him for writing and production collaboration on three of her studio albums; Music (2000), American Life (2003) and Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). Credits include the title tracks from Music and American Life and the songs "Impressive Instant", "Don't Tell Me", "Hollywood", "Nobody Knows Me", "Love Profusion", "Nothing Fails" and "Paradise (Not for Me)". From Confessions On A Dance Floor, Mirwais co-produced Future Lovers, with which Madonna chose to open her 2006 Confessions Tour.

Massive Attack are a British trip hop group, founded in 1988 by Robert Del Naja, Grantley Marshall, and Andrew Vowles in Bristol, England. The trio were together prior to the formation of this band, as part of The Wild Bunch.

With the release of their debut album Blue Lines in 1991, Massive Attack were critically acclaimed for their fusion of jazz, hip hop, rock, and soul elements into a style that journalists in the mid-nineties dubbed trip hop. With the release of later albums such as Protection in 1994, Mezzanine in 1998, and 100th Window in 2003 the group integrated a greater degree of electronica into their sound. Over the years, Massive Attack have teamed up with the likes of Madonna, Mos Def & Sinéad O'Connor among many others. Massive Attack began as an offshoot of the popular mid-1980s sound system The Wild Bunch. The core group consisted of three members, Robert Del Naja ("3D"), Grant Marshall ("Daddy G") and Andrew Vowles ("Mushroom"), along with occasional Wild Bunch collaborator (and also Del Naja's roommate) Tricky. In 1988 they released their first single "Any Love", followed in 1991 by their first album, Blue Lines, featuring the hit singles "Unfinished Sympathy" (with Shara Nelson) and "Safe From Harm". The album, which was produced by Cameron McVey, was well-received both critically and commercially. Blue Lines subsequently became one of the most influential British records of the 1990s, ushering in a new genre of music sometimes referred to as the 'Bristol sound', but more often labeled trip-hop, a label Massive Attack have said they dislike. Despite the use of breakbeats, samples, and rap courtesy of Tricky, "Blue Lines" is distinct stylistically from American hip-hop. The music is more complex, layered, and atmospheric, earning the designation of trip-hop, with its unique British tone and aesthetic The group were prominent in the 1980s Bristol club scene, and are considered pioneers of trip-hop.

Martin Gore (born Martin Lee Gore, 23 July 1961, Dagenham, East London, England) is an English songwriter, lyricist, singer, guitarist and keyboardist. He is a founding member of Depeche Mode. His work now spans three decades, but he is best known as the composer of hits such as "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence".

Gore left St. Nicholas's Comprehensive School in 1977 and took a job as a bank teller. During evenings, weekends and any other spare time, he was involved with the local band 'Norman and the Worms'. In 1980, Gore met Andrew "Fletch" Fletcher at the Van Gogh club. Fletcher recruited Gore into his band with Vince Clarke, Composition of Sound. Soon the band drafted David Gahan to be the lead singer after hearing him sing "Heroes" by David Bowie. Gahan is credited with the name "Depeche Mode" after seeing the phrase as a title of a French fashion magazine, which considered taking them to court, but thought it would be good publicity for the magazine to let the band have the name. Clarke left Depeche Mode in 1981 shortly after the release of the debut album Speak & Spell. Gore then became the band's main songwriter. Gore sings lead vocals on several of the band's songs, notably ballads, his tenor voice providing a contrast to David Gahan's dramatic baritone. Clarke wrote most of Depeche Mode's first album, Speak & Spell (1981). Gore contributed two tracks, "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and the instrumental "Big Muff". "Any Second Now (voices)" features Gore's first lead vocals for the band. When Clarke announced his departure from Depeche Mode in 1981, citing the pressures of fame and creative differences, Gore took over songwriting. Gore had been writing material since the age of twelve. Songs Gore wrote for Depeche Mode's second album, A Broken Frame (1982) differed musically and lyrically from Clarke's. Gore's writing became gradually darker and more political on subsequent Depeche Mode albums. Gore remains the primary songwriter for Depeche Mode. He has written every song on seven out of the eleven studio albums released thus far - A Broken Frame, Black Celebration, Music for the Masses, Violator, Songs of Faith and Devotion, Ultra, and Exciter.
Personal life
Gore's biological father was an African-American GI stationed in the UK. Gore was raised by his stepfather and biological mother. Miller quotes childhood friends and Gore himself. According to Miller's source, Gore is of mixed ethnicity, and, as an adult, met his father in the American South. Gore responds to the source's information & is quoted in Miller's book saying "It brings up family traumas" and "It's one of those things I'd rather not talk about." Martin currently lives in Santa Barbara, California. He is now divorced from his wife of 12 years, lingerie designer and model Suzanne Boisvert-Gore. He has 3 children: two daughters Viva Lee Gore (born June 6, 1991) and Ava Lee Gore (born August 21, 1995) & a son Calo Leon Gore (born July 27, 2002).

Maps is the recording name used by Northampton-based musician James Chapman. An obvious influence on Chapman are Spiritualized, whom "he loves", Galaxie 500, My Bloody Valentine, and Low.

He recorded Start Something EP by himself on his 16-track recorder, and released it on his own label Last Space Recordings in 2006, which was met with some critical acclaim. The single Don't Fear polled at No 26 in NME's top 50 singles of 2006. Critical acclaim was followed by his first full album entitled We Can Create, released on Mute Records on 19th May 2007. His first North American release To the Sky EP, was released digitally on May 22 on the same label, followed by his debut album on June 19.
Maps played the Latitude Festival in Southwold on 13 July 2007, as well as the Leeds & Reading Festivals on 24 August 2007 & 26 August 2007. Maps has toured playing the album's songs with a full live line-up, and plans to play 5 dates in the USA later in 2007. "My band sounded a bit like The Stone Roses meets Spaceman 3, they sounded like Devo," he says for The Independent. "It Will Find You" has been released as a single, with another track, "You Don't Know Her Name", being released on 30th July, 2007. On 17th July, 2007 it was announced that We Can Create had been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Since its release, the album has been seen as a critical success even though sales have been fairly modest. MAPS frontman James Chapman was recently interviewed by Liberation Frequency Online Magazine. James is supported by four local musicians for live shows. Phil Thurlby & Matthew Roberts on keyboards & vocals, Andrew Lowther on bass and Ben Gordelier on Drums. Frontman James claimed in an interview to reply to every MySpace message he receives personally.
Second upcoming album.
On 22/02/09 James Chapman wrote on his myspace blog about his new upcoming album saying "I've never been more confident and excited about this new album". In an interview he posted on this same blog, he mentions the new album's themes being "mental states" and "chemicals".

Daniel Victor Snaith (born 1978) is an electronic musician recording under the stage name Caribou. Snaith grew up in Dundas, Ontario (which is also the name of a song from his debut album Start Breaking My Heart) and studied mathematics at the University of Toronto and later at Imperial College London (PhD).

He is the son of Victor Snaith, a mathematics professor at the University of Sheffield, and the brother of Nina Snaith, a reader in mathematics at the University of Bristol. Snaith previously recorded under the stage name Manitoba, but changed his name in 2004 under threat of an American lawsuit by Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba, who had used the surname professionally since the 1970s (but had not released any music as a solo artist). As Snaith himself commented, "It's like The Smiths suing John Smith or something". Uninterested in and unable to afford the contest, Snaith opted to rename his project. Snaith is quoted as saying that he chose the name "Caribou" while on an LSD trip with friends in the Canadian wilderness.
Snaith usually performs with a live band when playing gigs, often assuming the role of percussionist (as well as a performer of electronic composition, he is an accomplished drummer). Currently, Snaith's live act is made up of Ryan Smith, Brad Weber (of Winter Equinox and Solitary Extraction), and Andy Lloyd (of Henri Fabergé and the Adorables). Sets also often include complex video projections on a large screen featuring clips from the Racey video "Some Girls", a DVD of which was released in November 2005. "In music I will have an idea to put some different sounds together or a melody that meshes with a chord sequence or a sonic mood," said Snaith in an interview. "I'm not the type of person who takes physical things apart and plays around with them, but I like taking mental ideas apart and playing around with them. That's what appeals to me about what I've spent my life doing."
He completed his Ph.D. in mathematics at Imperial College London in 2005. His thesis, titled Overconvergent Siegel Modular Symbols, was written under the direction of Kevin Buzzard. Snaith currently resides in London, England. His 2007 album Andorra was named the winner of the 2008 Polaris Music Prize. In 2008, music discovery site betterPropaganda named Caribou the 24th Most Influential Artist of the Decade in their Top 100 Artists of the 2000's feature.

M83 is an electronic music group consisting of Anthony Gonzalez (and formerly Nicolas Fromageau), & was formed in Antibes, France in 2001. The musical style owes something to the shoegazing genre in its extensive use of reverb effects and lyrics spoken softly over loud instrumentals, though M83's songs employ considerably less guitar than most shoegazing bands.

For the third album released by M83, Before the Dawn Heals Us, Gonzalez decided to part from Fromageau (after an emotionally distressing tour for Dead Cities, involving members of the rock band Eon Megahertz) and record mainly on his own, with the help of a few other musicians.
Songs and album history. M83 produced the remix of the track "Pioneers" on British group Bloc Party's 2005 album Silent Alarm Remixed. They have also remixed Placebo's "Protège-Moi", Goldfrapp's "Black Cherry", Depeche Mode's "Suffer Well" and Bumblebeez 81's "Vila Attack". Similarly, M83's songs have been remixed by Gooom labelmates Montag and Cyann & Ben. In 2005, M83 also reissued their 2001 self-titled album. This was made available in the United States, unlike the 2001 release. In 2006, after the Before the Dawn Heals Us US tour, Anthony Gonzalez continued to explore a musical direction already heard on earlier M83 tracks and began writing and recording a collection of ambient works. The album was recorded primarily at his home studio with the assistance of Antoine Gaillet. The resulting project is called Digital Shades Volume 1 and was released on September 3, 2007. It is intended to be part of an ongoing series of ambient works. Saturdays = Youth, M83's fifth studio album was released on April 15, 2008 on Mute Records. It was recorded with Ken Thomas (known for his work with Sigur Rós, The Sugarcubes, Boys in a Band, Cocteau Twins and Suede), Ewan Pearson (who has also produced for Tracey Thorn, The Rapture and Ladytron) and Morgan Kibby (of The Romanovs) The album is said to deliver the rich sonic textures for which M83 is well known, but with a more focused approach to song structure and form. "Couleurs" was the first single from the new album, released to digital retailers on February 25, 2008. The album's second single, "Graveyard Girl," was released to digital retailers on April 8, 2008 and comes with an exclusive remix from Yuksek. In 2008, they supported Kings of Leon on their UK tour. In 2009, they will tour with The Killers and play the V Festival tour around Australia.

Luke Haines (born 7 October 1967) is an English musician, songwriter and author, who has recorded music under various names and with various bands, including The Auteurs and Black Box Recorder.

Haines formed numerous bands when he was at school. At college he joined The Servants who recorded two commercially unsuccessful albums. It was only when Haines formed The Auteurs with his girlfriend Alice Readman and Glenn Collins in 1990 that he began to achieve some success. Regular gigging in the London area and an NME sponsored gig brought them to the attention of Hut Records. They released their first single, "Showgirl" in 1992, and their debut album New Wave a month later. Haines was later to claim that this was the album that started Britpop, though he later showed disdain towards the movement, stating in a 2003 interview that Britpop consisted of "a bunch of bands who weren't good enough to exist in their own right, like music's equivalent of the Bloomsbury Group." Certainly it was ahead of its time in turning back from the acid house then popular to more traditional songwriting in the vein of The Kinks or The Small Faces. It is arguable that more commercially successful bands (such as Suede) owed much to Haines' vision. In any case, the album sold 12,000 copies only but was nominated for a Mercury Prize. The band toured the UK and the USA, gaining generally good reviews: however it is the opinion of the NME that the band were better in the studio than live.
Black Box Recorder reformation. In December 2007, Black Box Recorder teamed up with Art Brut to create the single Christmas Number One under the collaborative title of The Black Arts. In October 2008 Black Box Recorder appeared at the Nick Sanderson (Earl Brutus) tribute concert. It was subsequently announced on Luke Haines' web site that the band would play their first headlining gig for five years at The Luminaire, Kilburn, London in February 2009.

Haines' memoir Bad Vibes: Britpop and My Part in Its Downfall was published on 1 January 2009 by William Heinemann Ltd. The book covers Haines' experiences during the Britpop era 1991 to 1997.

Lemon Jelly are a British electronica duo consisting of Nick Franglen and Fred Deakin. Franglen and Deakin initially released three limited-circulation EPs, The Bath (1998), The Yellow (1999), and The Midnight (2000), which were then collected into a widely-released album in 2000,

Lemonjelly.ky, which was both a critical and a commercial success. The promo version of this album came in a card sleeve which featured artwork from each of the EPs on the front. On the back was the text: "This CD is for promotional use only and is not for resale. Neither is it for taking down to Reckless Records to swap for half a seven inch single. It can however be used as an attractive drinks coaster should the need arise." Reckless Records was a London-based chain of music exchange shops, which has since closed down. There is still a Reckless Records operating on Broadway street in Chicago, IL in 2008. Their second album (& self-proclaimed first studio album), Lost Horizons, was released in 2002, and was another success. The album featured the singles "Space Walk" and "Nice Weather For Ducks" and was nominated for the 2003 Mercury Music Prize and a BRIT Award for the now defunct "Best Dance Act" category in 2004.
