Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (born 19 February 1963 in Paddington, London, United Kingdom) is a British soul singer and songwriter.

His name Olusegun means "God is victorious". Known professionally by his first name, Seal is known for his numerous international hits and his marriage to supermodel Heidi Klum.
Personal life
Seal proposed to German supermodel Heidi Klum on 24 December 2004 at 7,000 ft, in an igloo on a glacier in Whistler, British Columbia. On 10 May 2005, the couple married on a beach in Mexico near Seal's home on Mexico's luxurious Costa Careyes. The couple have two sons together, Henry Günther Ademola Dashtu Samuel (b. 12 September 2005) and Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel (b. 22 November 2006). Seal is also the adoptive father of Heidi's daughter, Helene "Leni" Klum (b. 4 May 2004), whom Heidi had with Renault Formula One team director and Italian businessman Flavio Briatore. Seal is her only father figure, and he has praised Briatore for keeping his distance and not disrupting Leni's life. Seal coached the participants of Germany's TV show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (Popidol) in February/March 2009. On Thursday April 16, 2009, Seal confirmed to the press and his audience at Radio City Music Hall that Klum is pregnant with their fourth child who is a girl.

Sade is an English group, which achieved success in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. The band's music features elements of soul, jazz, R&B, quiet storm, soft rock, funk, easy listening, and adult contemporary.

The lead vocalist, Sade Adu, is the only woman in the band and is the only one to appear on their album and single covers.

Rockwell (born Kennedy William Gordy on March 15, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan) is a former R&B performer who was signed to the Motown label.

Rockwell is the son of Motown founder and CEO Berry Gordy and Margaret Norton. To avoid charges of nepotism, Rockwell secured his record deal without his father's knowledge. Motown came up with the name Rockwell. Rockwell changed his name because he believed he "rocked well." In 1984, Rockwell released his only hit single, "Somebody's Watching Me", featuring childhood friend Michael Jackson on guest vocals (notably in the chorus lyrics). Rockwell's sister, Hazel, was married to Jermaine Jackson. Because Michael was at the height of his pop stardom, Rockwell knew he could get his song released if he could persuade Michael to sing on it. "Somebody's Watching Me" became a Top Ten pop hit in both the US and UK, and a #1 R&B hit. Follow-up singles underperformed, however, with single "Obscene Phone Caller", being Rockwell's only other Top 40 single. This follow-up single reached #35 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rockwell soon ended his musical career with Motown. Rockwell appeared on Soul Train on February 2, 1985 Rockwell was not the first member of the Gordy family to hit Billboard's Hot 100 as a recording artist. His uncle, Robert Gordy, reached the longer reaches of the chart in 1958 with "Everyone Was There," recording under the name of Bob Kayli. Rockwell's paternal half-sister is actress Rhonda Ross Kendrick, the eldest child of Diana Ross. A remix by Mysto & Pizzi of Rockwell's hit "Somebody's Watching Me" is currently being used in a commercial for the auto insurance company GEICO.

Prince Rogers Nelson (born June 7, 1958) is an American musician. He performs under the mononym of Prince, but has also been known by various other names, among them an unpronounceable symbol which he used as his name between 1993 and 2000,

During which time he was usually referred to as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince. Prince is prolific, having released several hundred songs both under his own name and with other artists. He has won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the first year he was eligible in 2004. Rolling Stone ranked Prince #28 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Prince's musical palette covers many musical genres including R&B, soul, funk, rock, blues, new wave, psychedelia, folk, jazz and hip hop. Some of his influences are Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Sly & the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Parliament-Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis. The distinctive characteristics of his early-to-mid 1980s work, such as sparse and industrial-sounding drum machine arrangements and the use of synthesizer riffs to serve the role traditionally occupied by horn riffs in earlier R&B, funk and soul music, were called the "Minneapolis sound" and have proved very influential.
rince Rogers Nelson was born June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John L. Nelson and Matti Shaw. John was a pianist and songwriter, and Matti was a jazz singer. He was named after his father, whose stage name was Prince Rogers, and who performed with a jazz group called the Prince Rogers Trio. In a 1991 Current Affair interview, John L. stated, “I named my son Prince because I wanted him to do everything I wanted to do.” His childhood nickname was Skipper. As a child, Prince suffered from epilepsy. Prince's mother would later recall to him that he claimed during his childhood, "I'm not gonna be sick anymore, because an angel told me." After the birth of his sister Tyka in 1960, Prince's parents gradually became estranged. After they separated formally (when Prince was ten), he had a troubled relationship with his stepfather that resulted in him going to live briefly with his father, who expelled him after finding him in bed with a female friend. Later he settled in with a neighborhood family, the Andersons, befriending their son, Andre Anderson (later called André Cymone). Prince and Anderson joined Prince's cousin Charles Smith in a band called Grand Central that they formed during high school. (Smith would later be replaced by Morris Day.) His initial contributions were on piano and guitar, but he would share vocals with Anderson in what was mainly an instrumental band, playing clubs and parties in the Minneapolis area. As time went by and Prince's musical interests increased, he began producing the arrangements for the band. Grand Central evolved into Champagne and started playing original music drawing on a range of influences including Sly & the Family Stone, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Miles Davis, Parliament-Funkadelic, Carlos Santana and Jimi Hendrix. At one point Prince was a student at the Minnesota Dance Theatre. In 1976, he started work on a demo tape with producer Chris Moon in a Minneapolis studio. Prince also had the patronage of Owen Husney (of The High Spirits), to whom Moon introduced him, a connection that helped him produce a high-quality demo recording. Husney started contacting major labels and ran a campaign promoting Prince as a star of the future, resulting in a bidding war eventually won by Warner Bros. Records as they were the only label to offer Prince creative control of his songs.

OutKast is an American hip hop duo based out of East Point, Georgia, a city south of Atlanta, Georgia. The duo was originally known as The OKB (The OutKast Brothers) but later changed its name to OutKast.

The group's original musical style was a mixture of Dirty South and G-Funk. Since then, however, funk, soul, pop, electronic music, rock, spoken word poetry, jazz, and blues elements have been added to the group's musical palette. The duo consists of Atlanta native André "André 3000" Benjamin (formerly known as Dré) & Savannah, Georgia-born Antwan "Big Boi" Patton. The duo is one of the most successful hip-hop groups of all time, having received six Grammy Awards. Over 25 million copies have been sold of Outkast's eight releases: six studio albums, a greatest hits release, and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, a double album containing a solo album from each member. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is one of only three hip-hop albums to be certified Diamond in the U.S. for shipping over 10 million units. Along with their commercial success, OutKast has maintained an experimental approach in their music and are widely praised for their originality and artistic content.
Pre-Debut
Benjamin and Patton met while attending Tri-Cities High School, a Visual and Performing Arts School. Benjamin's parents were divorced and he was living with his father. Meanwhile, Patton had to move with his four brothers and six sisters from Savannah to Atlanta. Benjamin and Patton eventually teamed up and were pursued by Organized Noize, a group of local producers who would later make hits for TLC. The duo initially wanted to be called "2 Shades Deep" or "The Misfits", but because those names were already taken they later decided to use "OutKast" based on finding "outcast" as synonym for "misfit" in a dictionary. OutKast, Organized Noize, and schoolmates Goodie Mob formed the nucleus of the Dungeon Family organization.
OutKast signed to LaFace Records in 1992, becoming the label's first hip hop act and making their first appearance on the remix of labelmate TLC's "What About Your Friends". In 1993, they released their first single, "Player's Ball". The song's funky style, much of it accomplished with live instrumentation, was a hit with audiences. "Player's Ball" hit number-one on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart.

Oran "Juice" Jones (born 1959 in Houston, Texas), often incorrectly cited as Orange "Juice" Jones, is a Soul and R&B singer. He was the first artist who was signed to OBR Records, a subsidiary of Def Jam.

He was also the first R&B artist on the hip hop record label. His song "The Rain" became a hit in 1986, peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, which he followed with a successful duet with label mate Alyson Williams, "How to Love Again."

Eunice Kathleen Waymon, better known by her stage name Nina Simone (February 21, 1933 – April 21, 2003), was a Grammy Award-nominated American singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger and civil rights activist.

Although she disliked being categorized, Simone is generally classified as a jazz musician. Simone originally aspired to become a classical pianist, but her work covers an eclectic variety of musical styles besides her classical basis, such as jazz, soul, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop music. Her vocal style is characterized by intense passion, a loose vibrato, and a slightly androgynous timbre, in part due to her unusually low vocal range which veered between the alto and tenor ranges (occasionally even reaching baritone lows). Also known as The High Priestess of Soul, she paid great attention to the musical expression of emotions. Within one album or concert she could fluctuate between exuberant happiness or tragic melancholy. These fluctuations also characterized her own personality and personal life, worsened by bipolar disorder with which she was diagnosed in the mid-1960s, but was kept secret until 2004 after her death. Simone recorded over 40 live and studio albums, the biggest body of her work being released between 1958 (when she made her debut with Little Girl Blue) and 1974. Songs she is best known for include "My Baby Just Cares for Me", "I Put a Spell on You", "I Loves You Porgy", "Feeling Good", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", "Sinnerman", "To Be Young, Gifted and Black", "Ain't Got No/I Got Life" and "I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl".
Her music & message made a strong and lasting impact on culture, illustrated by the numerous contemporary artists who cite her as an important influence (among them Mary J. Blige, Elkie Brooks, Alicia Keys, Jeff Buckley, John Legend, Lauryn Hill and Peter Gabriel). Many hip hop and other modern artists sample and remix Simone's rhythms and beats on their tracks. In particular, Talib Kweli and Mos Def routinely pay tribute to her outstanding and soulful musical style. Many of her songs are featured motion picture soundtracks as well, including but not limited to, the The Big Lebowski (1998), Point of No Return (1993) Notting Hill (1999), The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), Before Sunset (2004), Inland Empire (2006), Sex and the City (2008), Revolutionary Road (2008), and Watchmen (2009).

Throughout her career, Simone gathered a collection of songs that would become standards in her repertoire (apart from the civil rights songs) and for which she is still remembered, even though most of these songs didn't do well on the charts at the time. These songs were self-written tunes, cover versions (usually with a new arrangement by Simone), or songs written especially for Simone. Her first hit song in America was a cover of George Gershwin's "I Loves You Porgy" (1958). It peaked at number 18 in the pop singles chart and number 2 on the black singles chart. In that same period Simone recorded "My Baby Just Cares for Me", which would become her biggest hit years later in 1987, when it was featured in a Chanel no. 5 perfume commercial. A music video was then created by Aardman Studios. Well known songs from her Philips albums include "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" on Broadway-Blues-Ballads (1964), "I Put a Spell on You", "Ne Me Quitte Pas" (a Jacques Brel cover) and "Feeling Good" on I Put A Spell On You (1965), "Lilac Wine" and "Wild Is the Wind" on Wild is the Wind (1966). Especially the songs "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", "Feeling Good" and "Sinnerman" (Pastel Blues, 1965) have great popularity today in terms of cover versions (most notably The Animals's version of the former song), sample usage and its use on various movie, TV-series and videogame soundtracks. "Sinnerman" in particular has been featured on movies like The Thomas Crown Affair and Inland Empire, and sampled by artists like Talib Kweli and Timbaland. The song "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" was sampled by Devo Springsteen on "Misunderstood" from Common's 2007 album "Finding Forever, and by little-known producers Rodnae and Mousa for the song "Don'tGetIt" on Lil Wayne's 2008 album "The Carter III". Simone's years at RCA-Victor spawned a number of singles and album songs that were popular, particularly in Europe. In 1968 it was "Ain't Got No, I Got Life", a medley from the musical Hair from the album Nuff Said (1968) that became a surprise hit for Simone, reaching number 2 on the UK pop charts and introducing her to a younger audience. In 2006, it returned to the UK Top 30 in a remixed version by Groovefinder. The following single, the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" also reached the UK top 10 in 1969. "House of the Rising Sun" featured on Nina Simone Sings The Blues in 1967, but Simone had recorded the song earlier in 1961 (featuring on Nina At The Village Gate, 1962), predating versions by Dave Van Ronk and Bob Dylan. It was later picked up by The Animals and became their signature hit.
Film
The documentary Nina Simone: La Legende (The Legend) was made in the '90s by French filmmakers. It was based on her autobiography I Put A Spell On You and features live footage from different periods of her career, interviews with friends and family, various interviews with Simone herself while she was living in the Netherlands, and on a trip to her birthplace. A significant amount of footage from The Legend was taken from an earlier 26-minute biographical documentary by Peter Rodis, released in 1969 and titled simply Nina. Plans for a Nina Simone biographical film were released at the end of 2005. The movie will be based on Simone's autobiography I Put A Spell On You (1992) and will also focus on her relationship in later life with her assistant, Clifton Henderson, who died in 2006. TV writer Cynthia Mort (Will & Grace, Roseanne) is working on the script, and singer Mary J. Blige will play the lead role. The movie is scheduled for 2009.

Cornell Haynes, Jr. (born November 2, 1974), better known by his stage name Nelly, is an American rapper, singer, actor and entrepreneur. He has performed with the rap group St.

Lunatics since 1993 and was signed to Universal Records in 1999. Under Universal, Nelly has five solo studio albums released and several number-one hits. He also won Grammy Awards in 2003 and 2004. He also starred in the 2005 remake film The Longest Yard alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. In addition, Nelly played in the Main Event at the 2007 World Series of Poker. He is also one of the owners of the Charlotte Bobcats, along with Robert L. Johnson and NBA legend Michael Jordan. Nelly has two clothing lines: Vokal (for men) and Apple Bottoms (for women) and the drink Pimp Juice.
Awards
At the 2003 Grammys, he received two awards; one for Best Male Rap Solo Performance, and another shared with Kelly Rowland for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Additionally, Nelly won the 2003 American Music Award for "Fan's Choice" and received four other nominations. He won his third Grammy in 2004 for his and P. Diddy's guest vocals in Murphy Lee's number-one hit single "Shake Ya Tailfeather" from Lee's album Murphy's Law.

Mantronix was an influential 1980s hip hop and electro funk music group founded by DJ Kurtis Mantronik (Kurtis el Khaleel), & rapper MC Tee (Touré Embden).

Mantronix underwent several genre (and line-up) changes during its 7 year existence (1984–1991), from old school hip hop to electro funk to house music, but the group is primarily remembered for its original, heavily synthesized blend of old school hip-hop and electro funk. In 1984, while working as the in-store DJ for Downtown Records in Manhattan, Kurtis Mantronik, a Jamaican-Canadian émigré, met MC Tee, a Haitian-born, Flatbush, Brooklyn-based rapper. The duo soon made a demo, "Fresh Is The Word," and eventually signed with William Socolov's Sleeping Bag Records. Mantronix's second album, Music Madness, was released in 1986. While MC Tee's rhyming style on the album continued in the traditional b-boy fashion of the times, Mantronik's club-oriented production and mixing in Music Madness tended to attract more electronic dance music and electro funk aficionados than hip-hop fans. During this period, while Mantronix was signed to Sleeping Bag Records, Mantronik was employed by the label in their A&R Department, while also producing other artists and groups, including Just-Ice, T La Rock, Nocera, and Joyce Sims. Mantronix's final release, with vocalist Jade Trini replacing D.J. D, was The Incredible Sound Machine in 1991. Grammy-nominated neo soul singer/songwriter Angie Stone co-wrote seven of the eleven tracks that appeared on The Incredible Sound Machine. The Incredible Sound Machine, which tended to favor R&B, new jack swing, and dance music over hip hop, was considered both a critical and commercial disappointment. Shortly after a European tour and promotion related to the release of The Incredible Sound Machine, the group disbanded, and Mantronik left the music industry altogether for seven years. Kurtis Mantronik resurfaced in Europe in the late 1990s, producing house and techno music artists, and remains an active force in pop-oriented electronic music to this day.

Macy Gray (born Natalie Renee McIntyre on September 6, 1967 also credited as Natalie Hinds in her music) is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress, famed for her distinctive raspy voice and a singing style heavily influenced by Billie Holiday and Betty Davis

To date, Gray has released four studio albums, one compilation album, and one live album—with her fourth studio album, Big, released in March 2007 & has received five Grammy Award nominations, winning one. She has appeared in a number of films including Training Day, Spider-Man, and Idlewild. Gray is best known for her international hit single "I Try", taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is. In late 2008, Gray took on a new alias "Nemesis Jaxson", and has plans to release her fifth studio album in 2009.

Gray was married from 1996 to 1998 to Tracy Hinds, with whom she had three children: Aanisah (in January 1994), Tahmel (in December 1995), Cassius (nicknamed "Happy") (in 1997).[69] She opened up a music academy called The Macy Gray Music Academy in 2005 and it was the scene for an episode of MTV's Punk'd because of "black mold in the building". Gray has been highly praised for her work with the academy and has given underprivileged children and teenagers the chance to perform. Gray has two tattoos one on her right wrist with all her children's names and the other on her leg that has a rose and says "Daddy". She was an early supporter of a Barack Obama presidential campaign, almost two years before his official announcement, she wore a shirt saying "Barack Obama for President" during the Hurricane Katrina fundraisers. Macy is the oldest of her three younger siblings; Nathan McIntyre, Nehlia Grey, and Chanese Taylor ( the youngest ).

Linda Perry, born April 15, 1965, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to parents of Portuguese and Brazilian descent, is an American rock musician, songwriter, and record producer.

Once best known as the lead singer and primary songwriter of 4 Non Blondes, Perry has founded two record labels and has become a major songwriter and producer responsible for hit songs by a number of successful female singers such as Gwen Stefani ("What You Waiting For" from her album Love Angel Music Baby), Pink (who had a #1 hit with "Get the Party Started", written by Perry), and Christina Aguilera (who had a #1 hit with Perry's song "Beautiful"). Perry has also contributed heavily to albums by Courtney Love and Kelly Osbourne as well as signing and distributing James Blunt in the United States. After success with Pink, Perry's next big project came in the form of providing Christina Aguilera a career makeover with the international hit "Beautiful." Leonard Albert "Lenny" Kravitz (born May 26, 1964) is a popular American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and arranger whose "retro" style incorporates elements of rock, soul, funk, reggae, hard rock, psychedelic, folk and ballads.

In addition to singing lead and backing vocals, Kravitz often plays all the guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and percussion himself when recording. He is known for his elaborate stage performances and music videos. Kravitz has had multiple number 1 hits on the US Top Singles Charts and many more worldwide. Lauryn Noel Hill (born May 25, 1975 in South Orange, New Jersey) is a Grammy Award-winning American singer, rapper, musician, songwriter, producer, and film actress.

Early in her career, she established her reputation in the hip-hop world as the lone female member of The Fugees. In 1998 she launched her solo career with the release of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The recording earned Hill five Grammy Awards. Following the success of her debut album, Hill largely dropped out of public view, in part due to her displeasure with fame and the music industry. After a four-year hiatus, she released MTV Unplugged No. 2.0, a live recording of "deeply personal songs", played with an acoustic guitar. Hill also participated in a short-lived Fugees reunion during the mid-2000s. Hill is the mother of five children with Rohan Marley, the fourth son of reggae legend Bob Marley.

Cyril Kamar, (born January 31, 1980 in Beirut, Lebanon) better known by his stage name K'Maro, is an English/French Canadian hip hop and R&B singer-songwriter and producer. He released his solo debut album La Good Life in the mid 2004, with 3 singles released from it.

Kanye Omari West (pronounced /ˈkɑnjɛj/; born June 8, 1977) is a Christian American rapper, record producer and singer. He released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004, his second album Late Registration in 2005, his third album Graduation in 2007, and his fourth album 808s & Heartbreak in 2008. His first three albums have received numerous awards, critical acclaim, & commercial success. West also runs his own record label GOOD Music.

West's mascot and trademark is "Dropout Bear," a teddy bear which has appeared on the covers of three of his four albums as well as various single covers and music videos. West gained fame by producing for Roc-A-Fella Records, where he eventually achieved recognition for his work on Jay-Z's classic album, The Blueprint as well as hit singles for musical artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Janet Jackson. Sean Tillmann (born on February 6, 1978 in Owatonna, Minnesota) better known by his stage names of Har Mar Superstar & Sean Na Na, is an American singer. While remaining relatively unknown in his home country, he has found fame in the U.K. indie rock/dance scene. Often regarded as a genuinely talented musician,

Har Mar Superstar is a character who bears several physical & behavioral similarities to p... star Ron Jeremy; he is overweight (though he has slimmed down considerably as his stage shows & frequent touring have become more physically demanding), he performs his shows nearly nude, and appears obsessed with his own sexual prowess. His musical genre is R'n'B music. He originally claimed to be Sean Tillman's twin brother, Harold Martin Tillman, from which he claimed his name originated. The name actually comes from a shopping center in Roseville, Minnesota called the Har Mar Mall. He went to, and graduated from the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
Har Mar is also the spokesperson for Vladivar Vodka, who produced a series of television commercials that gained an underground cult appreciation for their blatantly sexual content.
Recently, Har Mar has become a spokesperson for Lynx brand deodorant in the UK. He has been involved in the promotion of the new scent, "click". He was no doubt chosen since image fits very well with the famous "lynx effect" marketing campaign which have famously portrayed the deodorant as being a major factor in attracting potential partners. Advertisements for Lynx bear vague sexual innuendo; some advertisements directly state that using the product will assist the consumer in seducing women.

The Fugees were a critically-acclaimed New Jersey hip hop group that rose to fame in the mid-1990s, whose repertoire included elements of soul and Caribbean music, particularly reggae. The members of the group are rapper/singer/producer Wyclef Jean, rapper/singer Lauryn Hill, and rapper Pras Michel.

Deriving their name from the term refugee, Jean and Michel are Haitian Americans, while Hill is African American. The group recorded two albums one of which, The Score (1996), was a multi-platinum and Grammy-winning success before disbanding in 1997. Hill and Jean each went on to successful solo recording careers; Michel focused on soundtrack recordings and acting, though he found commercial success with his song "Ghetto Supastar". The trio released their first LP, Blunted on Reality, in 1994. The album spawned two underground hits, "Nappy Heads (Mona Lisa)" and "Vocab", but failed to live up to the reputation of the group's live shows and gained little mainstream attention. The Score became one of the biggest hits of 1996 and one of the best-selling hip hop albums of all time.
The Fugees gained attention for their cover versions of old favorites, with the group's reinterpretations of "No Woman No Cry" by Bob Marley & the Wailers and "Killing Me Softly with His Song" by Roberta Flack, the latter being their biggest pop hit. The album also included a re-interpretation of The Delfonics' "Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide From Love)" in their hit single, "Ready or Not", which featured a prominent sample of Enya's Boadicea without the singer's permission. This prompted a lawsuit resulting in a settlement where Enya was given credit and royalties for her sample. The Fugees have continuously thanked and praised Enya for her deep understanding of the situation, for example in the liner notes for The Score. The Fugees won two 1997 Grammy Awards with The Score (Best Rap Album) and "Killing Me Softly" (Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group).

The British disco/funk band Freeez formed in the late '70s, featuring members Paul Morgan (drums), Peter Maas (bass and vocals), Andy Stennett (keyboards), and John Rocca (percussion and vocals).

The quartet issued four albums from the early to mid-'80s, including such titles as 1981's Southern France, 1983's Gonna Get You, 1984's Anti Freeze, and 1985's Idle Vice.

Flipsyde is a rap/R&B/rock band from Oakland, California. Flipsyde consists of band members Steve Knight, Dave Lopez, Jinho "the Piper" Ferreira, and recently Chantelle Paige. They have toured extensively with Fort Minor, The Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg and on the Anger Management Tour. Flipsyde's single, "Someday", was chosen as NBC's theme song for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games held in Torino, Italy.

Their debut album, We the People, also featured three other singles ("Happy Birthday", "Trumpets (Never Be The Same Again)", and "Angel") and was highly lauded by critics, including a review from the Washington Post proclaiming it the best hip hop album of 2006. In 2008, following the addition of Paige to the group, Flipsyde once again had a song of theirs selected as a theme song for the Olympics. This time their song "Champion" has been chosen as the theme for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, as well as the primary song for EA Sports NBA Live 09 video game and as part of the soundtrack for the film Never Back Down. They enjoy touring in India, where their first tour took place in 2005 via VH1's Hip Hop Hustle, and have already performed there twice and may be planning a third trip. Recently it was announced on their MySpace that they had started touring with Akon, promoting their second studio album, State of Survival, produced by Akon and Konvict Muzik. The album will be released on the set date of April 21, 2009 via Kon Live Distribution and Cherrytree Records, and Akon will feature on 3 tracks.

D:Ream was a Northern Irish pop rock / synthpop and dance band of the 1990s. They had one UK Number One hit with the re-release of "Things Can Only Get Better"; two Top 10 hits coupled with four Top 20 hits: the re-release of "U R The Best Thing", "Take Me Away", "Party Up the World", and the second re-release of "Things Can Only Get Better"; plus five other releases that all reached the UK Singles Chart.

Between 1992 and 1997, the period during which they were active, the band released two studio albums (D:Ream On Volume 1 and World), ten different singles (some of them re-released twice or three times, until totally reaching fourteen singles - but two tracks were featured together on a double A-side single), and an official greatest hits album (The Best of D:Ream). In 2006, a second collection was released, for The Platinum Collection series.
When D:Ream became famous the main members were Peter Cunnah (vocalist, songwriter), Al Mackenzie (musician) and Cian McCarthy (producer), although later the group would become a one man band, exclusively centred upon the singer. Another member, Brian Cox played keyboards for several years in D:Ream, while studying for his PhD. Drumtech trained Mark Roberts played drums. There were a number of vocalists who changed over time such as T.J. Davis, who is featured as co-lead vocalist on "The Power (Of All the Love in the World)", one of the singles taken from their second album, World as well as providing backing vocals on many other songs. Cox is currently working on the Large Hadron Collider project.
