Regina Spektor - Far 2009

Far is the upcoming fifth studio album by singer-songwriter Regina Spektor. It is expected to be released by Sire Records on June 23, 2009, as was announced in a press release on April 13. The first single "Laughing With" was released to Regina's MySpace page on May 8 and was released as a digital download on May 18 in the United States and parts of Europe, along with "Blue Lips". Two viral videos for "Dance Anthem of the 80s" and "Eet" were released on Spektor's myspace account. The official video for "Laughing With" was released on iTunes on May 26, 2009. A special edition of the album will be released with extra tracks, interviews and videos.

The Mars Volta - Octahedron 2009

Octahedron is the upcoming fifth studio album by American rock band The Mars Volta, set for release on June 23, 2009. The album is being released by Warner Bros. Records in North America and Mercury Records worldwide. On April 22, 2009, the album's first single, "Cotopaxi," was played as the "hottest record in the world" for that day on the Zane Lowe BBC Radio One show. An interactive website was also launched, which featured "Since We've Been Wrong" and "Cotopaxi", as well as their lyrics, and several pictures of Rodriguez-Lopez and Bixler-Zavala.

The Lemonheads - Varshons 2009

Varshons is an album of covers by alternative rock band The Lemonheads. On 27th March 2009, it was announced that Varshons will be released in the US on 23rd June on The End Records. Produced by Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes, the album will feature a variety of tracks from GG Allin, Wire, Leonard Cohen, and Linda Perry. Guest performances include vocals from actress Liv Tyler on Leonard Cohen's "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye," and model Kate Moss guests on Arling & Cameron's "Dirty Robot." Cover art is by Mark Dagley.

Patterson Hood - Murdering Oscar 2009

Patterson Hood will release Murdering Oscar (and other love songs) on June 23, 2009 on Ruth St. Records. The second solo record from the leader of the Drive-By Truckers has been 15 years in the making. The album was produced by Hood and long-time DBT producer David Barbe (Sugar). Most of his DBT band mates join him on the album as well as Don Chambers, Will Johnson and Scott Danbom from Centro-matic/South San Gabriel. This is also the first time Hood’s father David Hood, famed Muscle Shoals bass player, joins him on a record.

Dinosaur Jr - Farm 2009

Dream Theater - Black Clouds and Silver Linings 2009

Black Clouds & Silver Linings is the tenth studio album of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. It is scheduled to be released through Roadrunner Records on June 23, 2009. Drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist John Petrucci produced the album, while Paul Northfield returned from 2007's Systematic Chaos as mixer. The album will be released as a single CD, 3-disc Special Edition with instrumental mixes and cover songs, double vinyl LP, as well as a Deluxe Collector's Edition Box Set. The cover songs will be revealed one per week during the six week period prior to the album's release, beginning on May 19.

Deer Tick - Born On Flag Day 2009

The sophomore full-length from Deer Tick is titled Born On Flag Day. The album is slated for a June 23rd release via Partisan Records. The album is the follow-up to the band’s 2007 critically acclaimed debut War Elephant. The effort will feature three new members who were recruited by John J. McCauley III - Andy Tobiassen, Dennis Ryan and Chris Ryan.
