"This is what I call 'modern '50s' music," says David Lynch about the exclusive track EW is streaming here from a new, Lynch-lyric'd album called Fox Bat Strategy. The director of Blue Velvet, Inland Empire, and so many other dream-nightmares told EW, "I produced this music and wrote these lyrics, and these songs sat on the shelf since about 2006 until now." Lynch has entitled the album Fox Bat Strategy: A Tribute to Dave Jaurequi, in honor of the recording's guitarist and vocalist, who died in 2006 at age 50. As you can hear on this track, "Shoot The Works," Jaurequi intones Lynch's love lyric like a rockabilly balladeer. When I suggested that Jaurequi sounds like Ricky Nelson on a midnight prowl, Lynch says, "Yeah! That’s right! I love that '50s feel of innocence and pain mingling."

Mind Control is the fourth album from the post-grunge band Tantric, and will be released on August 4, 2009, exclusively through Arby's store locations. The album was recorded in March of 2009 with producer Brett Hestla, former touring bassist for Creed. The first single will be the title track, "Mind Control".

Burn Burn is the upcoming seventh studio album by Canadian alternative rock band Our Lady Peace. It is set to be released on July 21, 2009 by Sony Music Entertainment in Canada, and through Warner Music Group in the United States. The title is based on a quote by Jack Kerouac from his 1957 novel On the Road. The album is Our Lady Peace's first not to have involved collaboration with an outside producer, and the first to be produced solely by band vocalist Raine Maida. The album's release will mark the longest gap between OLP studio albums to date, with their preceding album having been released in August 2005. It will also be their shortest album to date.

Horehound is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band The Dead Weather, due to be released on July 13 in Europe and on July 14 (of 2009) in North America. The album was recorded at the Jack White designed Third Man Studio during a three week session in January 2009. The first single from the album, "Hang You from the Heavens", was released through iTunes on March 11, 2009, and on vinyl on April 18, 2009.

Leave This Town is the second album of the American rock band Daughtry and set to be released on July 14, 2009. The band has stated that the sound of the album will be much heavier than their previous record. On May 29, 2009, Daughtry released the album art cover. The song written with Ryan Tedder didn't make the album. Despite the fact that 14 tracks were announced, only 12 made the final cut.

UUVVWWZ started as a band in 2007 in Lincoln, Nebraska. When we came up with the name we laughed. I wrote it on a ripped up brown paper bag that we had drawn some of our song structures on and pronounced while pointing, "Double 'U' double 'V' double 'W'... 'Z.'" Then we went back to working on our songs and being creative together with a good chance of pasta and cigarette breaks.

Nothing Personal is the third full-length studio album by American pop punk band All Time Low, scheduled to be released through Hopeless Records on 7 July 2009. The band is finished recording, with it being produced by Matt Squire, Butch Walker, David Bendeth and the team of S*A*M & Sluggo. Although the band spent time writing a collaboration with Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, the song will not feature on Nothing Personal, with vocalist Gaskarth stating, "It just didn't fit the vibe of the record," but, "It will definitely come out at some time."

Wilco (The Album) is the seventh studio album by American alternative rock group Wilco which is expected to be released June 30, 2009. The band has finished mastering the album and have released the track listing. According to lead singer Jeff Tweedy, the band will "allow a little bit more leeway in terms of sculpting the sound in the studio and doing overdubs and using the studio as another instrument".

Music legend Levon Helm will be returning to the Twin Cities for what should be an amazing show June 10th at the Fitzgerald Theatre. Helm cut his teeth drumming and singing in the late ’60s with the seminal classic rock band the Band (who themselves backed up many musical legends before breaking out on their own). Helm was an integral part of the group’s string of classic albums, including Music from the Big Pink and The Band, which culminated with The Last Waltz (a film which brilliantly covered their final show ever).

The Fiery Furnaces are a U.S. indie rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2000. They played twice in Brooklyn as The Suckers before performing as The Fiery Furnaces (with an unchanged line-up). The band's primary members are Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger. The brother and sister are originally from Oak Park, Illinois, a near-western suburb of Chicago. Uni5 is an upcoming album by Cleveland, Ohio hip hop group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. It is schedule for release on September 22nd 2009. After nearly a decade of incarceration, Flesh-n-Bone was released from prison on July 13, 2008, and was soon photographed with all four other members Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, and Wish Bone. The reunited members of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have reportedly been seen in studio working together for the first time in many years.

Peter (Pete) Yorn (born July 27, 1974) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who first gained international recognition when his music, including the song "Strange Condition", appeared in the 2000 film Me, Myself & Irene. Yorn also wrote the film's score. Back and Fourth is the fourth full-length release from singer/songwriter Pete Yorn. It will be released on June 23rd, 2009, and was produced by Mike Mogis. Ursa Major is the upcoming fourth studio album from San Francisco Alternative rock band Third Eye Blind. Originally, it was titled The Hideous Strength, after C.S. Lewis' book. But since first reports, the album has changed to Ursa Major. Originally scheduled to be released on June 23rd, the album's release has been pushed back to August 18th. Octahedron is the upcoming fifth studio album by American rock band The Mars Volta, set for release on June 23, 2009. The album is being released by Warner Bros. Records in North America and Mercury Records worldwide. On April 22, 2009, the album's first single, "Cotopaxi," was played as the "hottest record in the world" for that day on the Zane Lowe BBC Radio One show. An interactive website was also launched, which featured "Since We've Been Wrong" and "Cotopaxi", as well as their lyrics, and several pictures of Rodriguez-Lopez and Bixler-Zavala.

Varshons is an album of covers by alternative rock band The Lemonheads. On 27th March 2009, it was announced that Varshons will be released in the US on 23rd June on The End Records. Produced by Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes, the album will feature a variety of tracks from GG Allin, Wire, Leonard Cohen, and Linda Perry. Patterson Hood will release Murdering Oscar (and other love songs) on June 23, 2009 on Ruth St. Records. The second solo record from the leader of the Drive-By Truckers has been 15 years in the making. The album was produced by Hood and long-time DBT producer David Barbe (Sugar). Black Clouds & Silver Linings is the tenth studio album of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. It is scheduled to be released through Roadrunner Records on June 23, 2009. Drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist John Petrucci produced the album, while Paul Northfield returned from 2007's Systematic Chaos as mixer. The album will be released as a single CD, 3-disc Special Edition with instrumental mixes and cover songs, double vinyl LP, as well as a Deluxe Collector's Edition Box Set. The cover songs will be revealed one per week during the six week period prior to the album's release, beginning on May 19.

Act III: Life and Death is the third full-length album from The Dear Hunter. It is the third part of a six-act story, following 2007's Act II: The Meaning of, and All Things Regarding Ms. Leading. The album was produced in the band's own studio in Providence, Rhode Island with a number of guest musicians.

The sophomore full-length from Deer Tick is titled Born On Flag Day. The album is slated for a June 23rd release via Partisan Records. The album is the follow-up to the band’s 2007 critically acclaimed debut War Elephant. The effort will feature three new members who were recruited by John J. McCauley III - Andy Tobiassen, Dennis Ryan and Chris Ryan. The current incarnation of the band will be on the road in support of Born On Flag Day sharing the stage with Elvis Perkins (April) and Jenny Lewis (May).

Originally scheduled to feature Kanye West, Akon, Busta Rhymes, The Game, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, The-Dream, Nelly, Bobby Valentino, Justin Timberlake, Tech N9ne and Static Major, guest appearances were pared down as many of the leaked songs were cut, including the song "Problems" featuring Tech N9ne.

Guilty Pleasure is the second studio album by pop singer Ashley Tisdale via Warner Brothers Records. It will be released on June 11, 2009 in Spain, as is scheduled for release worldwide on June 16, 2009 and is set to be released in North America on July 28, 2009. Math The Band is boyfriend/girlfriend duo Kevin Steinhauser and Justine Mainville, a pair that carries themselves with a reckless abandon that has scored them a total of seven broken bones and nine staples to the forehead during their short career. The band’s performances are actually so high intensity that guitarist/vocalist Kevin has been known to lose his lunch offstage and on.

The album is a 45-minute head trip, a throwback to days of yore when bands like Return to Forever or King Crimson would take you on an instrumental sonic adventure.

Monuments and Melodies is a two-CD compilation album by Incubus which will be released on June 16, 2009 through Epic Records. The first disc will feature 13 previously released singles from the albums Make Yourself, Morning View, A Crow Left of the Murder..., and Light Grenades, along with two new Brendan O'Brien-produced tracks, "Black Heart Inertia" and "Midnight Swim". The second disc will be a collection of rarities, including B-sides, soundtrack cuts, alternate versions, three previously unreleased songs, and a cover of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy". The album takes its title from a song that was originally released as the B-side to "Megalomaniac" and as a bonus track on international releases of A Crow Left of the Murder; it is also included on Disc 2 of this album. The album art was drawn by vocalist Brandon Boyd.
