Santi White (born September 25, 1976), better known by her former stage name Santogold (now Santigold), is an American songwriter, producer, and singer. Her eponymous debut album Santogold was released in 2008.

Biography
Santi White attended Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then went to college at Wesleyan University, where she double-majored in Music and African-American studies. The artist got her pseudonym in the 1980s from a friend's nickname for her. She worked for Epic Records as an A&R representative, but left the position to write and executive produce How I Do, the debut album from the singer Res. Santigold was the singer of the Philadelphia based punk rock band Stiffed, whose 2003 album, Sex Sells, and 2005 album, Burned Again, were produced by Bad Brains bassist Darryl Jenifer. While in this group, she was offered a solo contract by Martin Heath of Lizard King Records. Her initial singles "Creator" and "L.E.S. Artistes" received attention from Internet media in 2007.

Odd Nosdam (born David P. Madson) is a musician, DJ, artist, and co-founder and ex-art director of San Francisco Bay Area record label/collective Anticon.

Nosdam first gained wide acclaim for the megaspheric drone and warped pop of his former group cLOUDDEAD (with fellow Anticon founders Why? and Dose One); more recently, he has worked closely with Mike Patton on his Peeping Tom project and remixing tracks by a variety of bands including The Notwist, Danielson, Serena-Maneesh, Boards of Canada, Bracken and Black Moth Super Rainbow. He has also produced, mixed or collaborated with Jel, Jessica Bailiff, TV On The Radio, Reaching Quiet, Restiform Bodies, Thee More Shallows, Themselves, Sole, Sage Francis, Mr. Dibbs, Dosh, Fog, Bre'r, Múm, Eluvium, Grouper, Greenthink, and Hood.

Leftfield was a duo of electronica artists and record producers Paul Daley (formerly of The Rivals, A Man Called Adam and the Brand New Heavies) and Neil Barnes, formed in 1989 in London, England. The name Leftfield was originally used simply by Neil Barnes for its first single,

"Not Forgotten," but after this, Paul Daley was involved first in remixing songs and then in the creation of following music. The pair were pioneers in the fields of intelligent dance music and progressive house, being among the first to fuse house music with dub and reggae. It furthermore was among the first electronic musicians to incorporate live guest vocalists, along with The Chemical Brothers and Underworld. Ultimately the duo have been influential on the electronic genre as a whole, with The Crystal Method's Scott Kirkland referring to them in 2005 as "The best Electronic band, period!"

Lee "Scratch" Perry (born Rainford Hugh Perry, on March 20, 1936, in Kendal, Jamaica) is a reggae and dub artist, who has been highly influential in the development and acceptance of reggae and dub music in Jamaica and overseas. He employs numerous pseudonyms, such as Pipecock Jaxxon and The Upsetter.

Gotan Project is a musical group based in Paris, consisting of musicians Philippe Cohen Solal (French), Eduardo Makaroff (Argentine), and Christoph H. Müller (Swiss, former member of Touch El Arab). Gotan Project formed in 1999. Their first release was "Vuelvo Al Sur/El Capitalismo Foraneo" in 2000, followed by the album La Revancha del Tango in 2001. Their music is clearly tango, but also uses electronic elements such as samples, beats, and breaks.

Live material was also broadcast on Gilles Peterson's world music show Worldwide on BBC Radio 1 in May 2004. Philippe Cohen Solal has also released a DJ set: Inspiración Espiración - A Gotan Project DJ Set Selected & Mixed by Philippe Cohen Solal (2004). This album is a compilation of classic tangos from the likes of Anibal Troilo, Ástor Piazzolla and Gotan Project remixes. The album also includes a bonus CD with the track "La Cruz del Sur" which was meant to be included on La Revancha del Tango, but did not make the cut in 2001.
Before Gotan Project, Müller and Cohen Solal formed a duo called Boyz from Brazil.

Gorillaz is a virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of alternative rock band Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The band is composed of four animated band members: 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. The band's music is a collaboration between various musicians; Albarn being the only permanent musical contributor. Their style is broadly alternative rock, but with a large number of other influences including: britpop, dub and pop music.

The band's first album, 2001's Gorillaz, sold over seven million copies and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize 2001, but the nomination was later withdrawn at the band's request. Their second studio album, Demon Days, was released in 2005 and included the singles "Feel Good Inc.", "Dare", "Dirty Harry" and "Kids with Guns"/"El Mañana". Demon Days went five times platinum in the UK, double platinum in the United States and earned five Grammy Award nominations for 2006 and won one of them in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category. Gorillaz have also released two B-sides compilations and a remix album. The combined sales of Gorillaz and Demon Days had, by 2007, exceeded 15 million albums. The group is currently working on their third studio album.

Easy Star All-Stars are a group of reggae artists who are signed to their own Easy Star record label, which is based in New York. They specialize in covering popular albums in a reggae and dub style and have released two cover albums to date.

The first, released in 2003, was an interpretation of Pink Floyd's classic The Dark Side of the Moon entitled Dub Side of the Moon and the second was 2006's Radiodread, a song-by-song cover of Radiohead's OK Computer. In March 2008 they released a new EP of original material. They recently (November 6th, 2006) toured for their Radiodread Tour. The tour began in Philadelphia, PA at World.

Asian Dub Foundation are a British electronica band, that plays a mix of breakbeat, dub, dancehall and ragga, also using rock instruments, acknowledging a punk influence.

Rebel Warrior, was inspired by the 1920s poem, "Bidrohi" by Bengali poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam, an advocate for Indian independence. The song discusses the racial violence and inequality that the group state still plagues their British communities. Asian Dub Foundation have used their music in conjunction with education and social work for youth in the East End of London, as well as other British anti-racism campaigns. They challenge the argument that Asians are passive onlookers in popular culture who are hardly involved in the music industry. Their music functions to bridge the black influence with their own Asian style, using such lyrics as "I grab the mic to commence with the mic check. Supply rhymes, man you never heard yet, you've never thought an Asian could do this." Reckoning a traditional hip-hop MC style with their own Asian influence and simultaneously mixing in various other musical styles, thus disbanding the polarization of the racial terms and addressing the "ongoing racialised violence and inequality evident in everyday experience in their neighbourhood".
